The Arizona Wildcats moved up two spots today to No. 5 in the Associated Press Top 25, though their sweep over Colorado and Utah didn't make much difference in some other major college basketball metrics today.

The Wildcats remain No. 7 in the NCAA's official RPI, and they're No. 6 in the Sagarin ratings, although Kenpom.com moved them up from No. 3 to No. 2.Β

ESPN's Joe Lunardi still has Arizona as the No. 2 seed in the West, though he did swap Villanova for Gonzaga as the West's No. 1 and slapped the Zags with the worst No. 2 seed possible -- the one in Kentucky's region. Jerry Palm at CBS Bracketology has the same scenario.

Stanley Johnson was named one of 10 finalists for the Wayman Tisdale Freshman of the Year award.

Sean Miller wound up earning $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Arizona in the Infiniti Coaches Charity Challenge.

Miller finished in the "Sweet 16" while four coaches -- Michigan's John Beilein, Iowa State's Fred Hoiberg, Wichita State's Gregg Marshall and Purdue's Matt Painter -- moved on to the "Final Four" voting that began today.

Coaches who are eliminated in the "Final Four" earn $15,000 for their designated charity while the overall winner earns $100,000.

Miller has earned a total of $30,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Arizona over the past four years through the competition.

Ken Pomeroy, who attended the Utah-Arizona game in person, was pretty impressed with the Wildcats.

The Republic's Doug Haller also noted how the Wildcats have thrived despite what turned out to be a tough schedule.

UCLA's Norman Powell was named Pac-12 Player of the Week, after averaging 26.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in home wins over Washington State and Washington.

Arizona had nominated Gabe York, who averaged 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks in Arizona’s wins over Colorado and Utah. He hit 4 of 5 three-pointers at Colorado, and made a game-winning layup off his missed free throw against Utah.
