Six Wildcats scored in double figures as the Arizona women’s basketball team defeated shorthanded Bellarmine 105-59 Thursday night at McKale Center to conclude nonconference play.
The Wildcats eclipsed 100 points for the first time since Nov. 10, 2022, when they defeated NAU 113-56. Thursday’s win also marked the 100th career Division I victory for Becky Burke as a head coach.

Arizona wrapped up noncon play with a three-game winning streak and a 9-2 record. The Wildcats open Big 12 play against Utah at noon Monday at McKale.
Tanyuel Welch had a team-high 18 points, her third double-figure outing in the past four games. Noelani Cornfield had 15 points and a game-high eight assists.
Daniah Trammell had 13 points, Kamryn Kitchen had 12 and Mireia Jurado and Achol Magot had 10 apiece.
Magot’s point total was a career high. Fellow frontcourt player Blessing Adebanjo had a career-best 11 rebounds.
Arizona led 14-11 with 4:14 left in the first quarter before reeling off nine straight points to end the period. The Wildcats scored the first four points of the second quarter to expand their lead to 27-11 and cruised from there.
Bellarmine (2-10) came to Tucson with only eight healthy players, according to the ESPN+ broadcast. The Knights played with only seven as leading scorer Triniti Ralston did not suit up due to a coach’s decision.
