Arizona offensive lineman Leif Magnuson entered the transfer portal, he announced on social media Friday afternoon. The transfer portal officially closed for new entries last Saturday.

Magnuson leaves the UA after five seasons in Tucson.

The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, native signed with the Wildcats in 2020 and mostly played special teams in his first three seasons at Arizona.

Arizona offensive lineman Leif Magnuson (65) reaches out to touch the Button Salmon bust as the Wildcats arrive at Arizona Stadium for the season opener against New Mexico, Aug. 31, 2024.

The 6-5, 300-pound Magnuson started five games at right guard for the injured Raymond Pulido in 2023. Magnuson appeared in 11 games in Arizona's 10-3 season in ’23, which ended with a win over Oklahoma in the Alamo Bowl. Magnuson played 512 offensive snaps at Arizona over his career, according to Pro Football Focus.

Magnuson was in position to start at right guard in 2024, but a series of concussions prevented him from playing beyond the first two games of the season against New Mexico and Northern Arizona.

Arizona offensive linemen Jonah Savaiinaea (71) and Leif Magnuson (65) celebrate as the officials make the call for a Wildcat first down in the final minutes against Oregon State in an October 2023 matchup in Tucson.

The Wildcats return redshirt freshman Alexander Doost, a 6-7, 332-pound Phoenix native, who took over starting duties at right guard this season. Doost and left tackle Rhino Tapa'atoutain are Arizona's only returning starters on the offensive line for the 2025 season.

Arizona has signed four offensive linemen in the transfer portal, including former Hawaii guard Ka'ena Decambra. The Wildcats also signed five offensive linemen in the 2025 recruiting class.

With Magnuson out, defensive backs Dalton Johnson and Treydan Stukes are the last two players at Arizona who were recruited by the Kevin Sumlin regime.

The Wildcats have 29 players from the 2024 roster currently in the transfer portal.
