The Arizona softball team will have a new-look pitching staff in 2026.
In addition to top hurlers Devyn Netz and Miranda Stoddard running out of eligibility, three members of the β25 staff have entered the transfer portal.
Following the entry of left-hander Aissa Silva, two more pitchers have put their names on the market: right-handers Brooke Mannon and Sydney Somerndike.
Mammonβs portal entry was reported by D1Softball. Somerndike announced her departure via social media.
With those five leaving β plus reliever Saya Swain, whoβs also out of eligibility β only two pitchers remain on the roster: left-hander Ryan Maddox and right-hander Sarah Wright.
After missing her freshman season because of injury, Maddox appeared in 20 games this past season. She went 3-2 with a 4.49 ERA and one save. Maddox had an upside-down strikeout-to-walk ratio (24-26) and a 1.63 WHIP and struggled in the postseason (eight earned runs in three innings vs. Texas Tech and Santa Clara).
Arizona pitcher Brooke Mannon throws while facing Grand Canyon in the Wildcatsβ final regular-season home game of the 2024 season at Hillenbrand Stadium on April 30.
Wright made just four appearances as a freshman this year, posting an 8.08 ERA in 4β innings.
After a promising freshman year that saw her go 6-3 in 25 appearances, Mannon didnβt have a substantial role in 2025. She appeared in just seven games, throwing 11β innings. She allowed just four hits but walked 13 batters while striking out eight.
Somerndike appeared in just two games as a redshirt sophomore after missing the β24 season because of injury.
Arizona has one pitcher, right-hander Rylie Holder, in its incoming freshman class. The departures of Silva, Mannon and Somerndike indicate that Caitlin Lowe and her staff will be active in pursuing pitchers in the portal.
