Arizona volleyball has a new assistant coach in Ryan Ammerman.Â
After three years in the same role at Maryland, Ammerman will coach the pins for the Wildcats.Â

In addition to coaching at Maryland and UC Irvine, where he racked up his own volleyball accolades as a student-athlete, Ammerman played for the U.S. Men's National Team from 2010-15, bringing "a very high level of volleyball expertise to our staff and program," said head coach Charita Stubbs.Â
"We are thrilled to welcome Ryan to Arizona and complete our coaching staff," Stubbs said.
During his time at Maryland, the Terrapins achieved a pair of 14-plus win seasons.
Volleyball has taken Ammerman around the world, playing professionally in Spain, Sweden, Slovenia, Italy, Belgium and Croatia.
Closer to his new Old Pueblo home, Ammerman previously spent time as a club coach in Colorado and California.Â
The Wildcats closed out the 2025 season 17-13 and 10-8 in the Big 12. The team fell in the second round of the NCAA Tournament after making its first return to the Big Dance since 2018.
