Douglas High's head coach James Fitzgerald and the referee have differing opinions in the second quarter of their game at Pueblo High School, Friday September 28, 2018, Tucson, Ariz.

Well, that didn't take long.

Douglas coach James Fitzgerald has been reinstated less than 24 hours after his players were told their coach would miss two weeks for playing an ineligible player in a rivalry game against Bisbee, according to the Douglas Dispatch.

Players found out about Fitzgerald's suspension following Friday night's 50-3 loss to Walden Grove. Fitzgerald has been told not to speak to the media.

The Bulldogs posted their best start since the 1981 season with five wins, but have dropped the last two games. Their next three should be winnable: Douglas will play at Amphitheater and Palo Verde before closing out the regular season at home against Rio Rico.
