Singles and doubles tournaments kick off Friday and the regular season for tennis comes to an end Tuesday.
The picture for next week’s team tournaments seemingly clear, as Catalina Foothills appears to be a lock to earn both the boys and girls No. 1 seeds in Division II once again.
Several teams have already wrapped up the regular season but some can still try and squeeze into the 16-team fields for the state tournaments: Tucson High’s boys could climb from No. 20 with a win against Mountain View on Tuesday and some help. Tanque Verde’s girls, ranked 17th in Division III, should lock up spot by winning their final two matches, including one against No. 9 Benson.
Here’s a look at Southern Arizona programs ranked in the top 25 heading into the final week:
