Tucson's Rob Alvarez (16) leads his Monster Media Racing team across the the finish line to win the 35th El Tour de Tucson bicycle race on Nov. 18, 2017.

On a perfect day for cycling, Tucson native Rob Alvarez took home the Tucson Medical Center El Tour de Tucson presented by Casino del Sol's 106-mile race. 

 The 41-year-old clocked in with an unofficial time of 4 hours 3 minutes.

Alvarez competed with Monster Media Racing, who swept the leaderboard on the men's side. Monster Media Racing is a combined team with the Mexican powerhouse P&S Group.  

David Solomon finished second on the men's side.  

Betsabe Solomon, sister of David, won the women's race. She also competed for Monster Media Racing.
