The Tucson Roadrunners opened their longest road trip of the season with a win.

Goaltender Hunter Miska won his seventh consecutive game in net, and the visiting Roadrunners topped the Ontario Reign 4-1 in California.

The game is the first in a two-week West Coast road trip. The club is away from Tucson Arena because of the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show.

Forward Mario Kempe scored twice in the first period, giving Tucson a 2-0 lead. The 'Runners added two more goals in the third period to put the game away. Tucson extended its AHL Pacific Division lead, improving to 24-13-2-1 this season — the team is also 13-3-1-1 on the road. Ontario fell to 22-17-2-1.

The Roadrunners' roadtrip continues Saturday with a game at the San Diego Gulls. The puck drops at 8 p.m., Tucson time.
