• Breakout game: McConnell's best game of the season so far came just a few days ago when he drained a game-winning shot over Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis of the New York Knicks. In that game, McConnell posted eight points (4-6 FGs), six rebounds and seven assists. The 76ers won 98-97.
After the game, McConnell told ESPN's "SportsCenter" that it was his "first buzzer-beater ever playing basketball, so it felt pretty good." (See the video of his buzzer-beater and postgame interview below).
McConnell also shined in a game against former UA teammate Stanley Johnson and the Detroit Pistons on Dec. 11. In that game, McConnell was one assist shy of a triple-double — he posted 12 points (6-9 FGs), 10 rebounds and nine assists.
