“They’re playing really well and they’re focusing on getting their best players and their best scorers shots. There’s not a lot of fluff in terms of who gets field goal attempts, so they’re very, very focused and intentional on offense and they’re obviously mixing up their defenses at the other end. That combination has made them extremely effective recently.

“They’ve been through a lot, they’ve gone through it together and they’ve come out on the other end a better Xavier team than when they went into it for sure.

“(Defensively), they’re playing man-to-man, 2-3 zone and 1-3-1 and I’d say they’re doing a great job of mixing those three defenses up.” — UA assistant coach Mark Phelps, who scouted the Musketeers.
