2.Β Former UA athletic director Greg Byrne said that McKale Center’s future as a NCAA site is unlikely. He believes that staging games in Tucson diminishes the chance for UA fans to travel to a West site and, therefore, limit fan support. Is he right? In the Pac-12 era, Tucson has been a host site seven times. Arizona is 11-2 in those games encumbered by a McKale sub-regional.Β
