When it comes to summer sales, the 4th of July weekend is tough to beat, with retailers offering steep discounts on summer items to make way for the fall season.
So, stock up on summer stuff for next year.
Who are we kidding? It's hot here 'till October. You'll get lots of use out of those items before next summer. So, why not get the kids' school shopping started, or better yet, snag something for yourself.
We've rounded up six of the best sales going on in our area.
1. Aaron Brothers Art & Framing
Aaron Brothers is known for its huge bi-annual sale. It happens in January and July: Buy one frame, get one for a penny. That's not it for the BOGO deals. The Art District's 250 ML tubes of acrylic paint, all paint brushes and heavy duty and traditional canvases are buy one get two free. 2. Summit Hut
Summit Hut's Oro Valley location will have a huge 4th of July sale where customers can expect a large variety of discounted merchandise.
The Oro Valley store, located at 7745 N. Oracle Road, will have discounted items within several categories, including clothing, sleeping bags, packs, footwear, trekking poles and more, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Discounts range from 20-40 percent off. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
3. JCPenney
Clearance items are marked down to 50-70 percent off throughout the store. Plus, there are coupons for an extra 20 percent off with your JCP credit card and $10 off of a $25 or more purchase. They've got t-shirts for juniors, guys and kids for $4.99, women's flip-flops for $1.99, towels for $3.99 and swimwear marked down by 60 percent. Click here to download the coupons.
4. Kohl's
Trinity Gatlin, 14, looks at jewelry at Kohl’s Department Store on West Arizona Pavilions Drive. Kohl’s was open 24 hours a day through 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. Customers can expect big savings during the department store's 4th of July sale this year.
Save up to 70 percent on clearance items and 80 percent on items with final markdowns. The sale runs now through July 4. Other sale items of note: 50 percent off of dress and casual sandals for girls, 50-60 percent off sleepwear for boys and girls, 30-50 percent off LC Lauren Conrad and Elle apparel for misses, patio furniture under $35, select styles of bed pillows and mattress pads marked down by 70 percent and more. 5. Macy's
It's not Black Friday, like in this picture, but 4th of July brings huge savings to Macy's shoppers.
Macy's 30-75 percent off sale is now through July 4. Sale items include 50 percent off swimwear faves, $9.99 summer workout clothes for women, 70-85 percent off select apparel for her, 50 percent off juniors, $5.99 activewear for boys, 8-piece bed sets for $59.99, pillows at 50 percent off, 30 percent off Keurig Brewers and more.
