We get it.
You have kids in tow. You want to take them to see the fireworks, but you also want to stay away from the big crowds and all that traffic.
Luckily, we're surrounded by big fireworks shows on July 4. So, you can live on any side of town and find a place with a view to make your own party.
Here are some ideas.
See fireworks on July 3
One spot that's always good is at the Kino Sports Complex. Sunny Lesiak watched fireworks marking the Independence Day holiday there with her son Dillon in 2008.
After the 7:30 p.m. soccer match, the sky will be lit with fireworks at Kino North Stadium.
You can see the show from Silverlake Park, which is at 2420 S. Kino Parkway. Silverlake is a pretty park with lots of grass and fun play areas for the kids. Make sure and stop at Eegee's on the way. There's one at 502 W. Ajo Way if you're coming from the west; 1758 E. Irvington Road from the south and 1875 S. Alvernon Way from the east.

A Mountain
You can catch glimpses of the A Mountain show, which starts at 9:15 p.m., just about anywhere, but the closer you are to downtown, the better.
- Military Plaza Park is located on the corner of E. 12th Street and S. Sixth Ave. in the Armory Park neighborhood, across the street from the Children's Museum Tucson. Get a growler from Tap & Bottle, which is at 403 N. Sixth Ave., for the grownups and an ice cream from Hub Ice Cream Factory, 245 E. Congress for the kids on the way. Sit on the grass or bring blankets and chairs.
- Head over to Santa Rosa Park, located at 1055 S. 10th Ave. — north of 22nd and south of 19th St. It's a small-ish neighborhood park, with a large field south of downtown. There aren't many restaurants around, so bring food and drinks from home.
