When the heat is sizzling like this, itβs time for the βSummer in the Cityβ discount card.
Here are things to know about the annual card, which is available now:
1. More than 130 local businesses in the greater downtown area are offering discounts to cardholders on purchases of food, drinks, clothing, retail, books, gifts, shows, lodging and tours.
2. The discounts are valid during June, July and August in six downtown districts.
3. There are no limits on the number of times you can use the card.
4. The streetcar connects five of the six participating districts: University of Arizona, Main Gate Square, North Fourth Avenue, Downtown Tucson and Mercado San AgustΓn. (Streetcar rides are not included with the card.) The sixth district is The Sunshine Mile on Broadway between Euclid and Country Club.
5. The card costs $5, or $9 for two or $20 for five, with several other discount packages available. The biggest β $300 for 100 cards β is billed as a βcorporate appreciation package.β Thereβs also an option for nonprofit organizations to sell the cards as a fundraiser.
