Enjoy the last bit of summer with an outdoor movie

Get your chairs, snacks and friends together for 4th Friday Films with The Loft Cinema at the Museum of Contemporary Art. This weekend's film is a documentary about Vivian Maier, a nanny with a secret life.

When: Friday, August 26, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: MOCA's Cox Plaza, 265 S. Church Ave.

Cost: Free but there is a $5 suggested donation


SATURDAY

Meet other super heroes

Bookmans Grant is hosting a Super Hero Social where you can unleash your super hero alter ego. Come dressed up as your favorite super hero to decorate your own mask and make recycled comic book collages.

When: Saturday, August 27, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Where: Bookmans Grant, 1930 E. Grant Rd.

Cost: Free

Come dressed up as your favorite super hero.

Or maybe meet your favorite Star Wars character

There will be a different kind of party on the other side of town. Bookmans Speedway wants you to come to their Star Wars Movie Madness dressed up as your favorite Star Wars character for character meetups, crafts and fun. 

When: Saturday, August 27, noon to 2 p.m.

Where: Bookmans Speedway, 6230 E. Speedway Blvd.

Cost: Free

It's kids vs. adults

Join Xtreme Sports and Fitness for their Family Recess Event. Here's your chance to get the whole family active this weekend. There will be plenty of activities like relay races, board games, double dutch and more.

When: There are four sessions this weekend, two each day but one is sold out. Saturday, August 27, Session 1 - 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Session 2 - 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, August 28, Session 1 - 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Have a wild evening

The International Wildlife Museum invites you to explore their museum with the lights off. Bring your favorite flashlight, meet wild animals and participate in a scavenger hunt. There will be food trucks for a late night snack.

When: Saturday, August 27, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. but you're welcome to see the museum with the lights on before the event.

Where: International Wildlife Museum, 4800 W. Gates Pass Rd.

The Screening Room is showing The Lady from Shanghai with pizza, wine and beer.

Go to Children's Museum Tucson to learn about science, technology, engineering, art and math. Your kid will love it and you'll love the price.
