Families participate in one of the many hands-on activities at last year's STEM festival hosted by the Tucson Hebrew Academy.

Take the kids to do something fun and educational this weekend.

The Tucson Hebrew Academy is hosting its third annual community STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) festival where you can meet a live porcupine or skunk, look through a solar telescope, watch rockets and drones go up in the sky and play and experiment with science on the Physics Bus, to name a few of the planned activities.

The academy is adding art to the mix this year with local artists demonstrating the science, technology, engineering and mathematics that go into their art. You'll get to make some of your own creations, too.

There will be a tree ring lab, you can learn how 3-D printing works, check out a giant meteorite collection and touch a real brain or heart. You can also watch a chemistry magic show and test out a hover board.

Exhibitors include Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Arizona Project Wet, Southern Arizona Rocketry Association, House Herp Reptile Educators, Pima Kids, Insect Discovery, Raytheon, Tucson Wildlife Center and many more.

Exhibitors at the THA Stem Festival interact with families.
