It's time to take your love of funny cat videos to the next level.
By that, we mean watching a 75-minute professional compilation of the best online cat videos of the year on a giant movie screen.
The Loft Cinema is hosting its Cat Video Fest on two days — July 1 and July 8 — to get cat lovers together in a social setting and raise money for the Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter and HOPE Animal Shelter.
The Cat Video Fest has been popular since the first show in 2013, said Jeff Yanc, program director for the Loft Cinema.
"It just proved to be insanely popular right out of the gate and after that first year we started adding an encore show to accommodate the demand," Yanc said. "The cat videos in the show change every year, so it's always a new show which helps keep it fresh."
This new video compilation features about 100 videos featuring crazy, funny adorable cats. It was curated by Will Braden, creator of the "Henri, le Chat Noir" videos.
"There's insanely great energy at these shows, with hundreds of people gathering together and laughing and having a good time watching goofy cat videos," Yanc said. "People can obviously watch cat videos at home, online, but watching them in a movie theater on a huge screen along with hundreds of other people is a pretty unique experience."
The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter is also bringing cats that people can adopt to the screening.
So, go ahead and let your inner crazy cat lady (or guy) out for a night.
