Get active at Reid Park Zoo's Fit Fest 2017.

What better place to tap into your inner lioness than at Reid Park Zoo

Seriously, you'll need to get fierce to tackle everything planned at the zoo's Fit Fest 2017 on Saturday, March 4.

For the third year, Reid Park Zoo, 3400 E. Zoo Court, will host yoga, Zumba, boot camps, salsa classes, PiYo, Silver Sneakers, Turbo Kick and more.

It's roughly three hours of INSANITY (which happens to be a class offered that evening) and a chance for people of all fitness levels to try something new, says Clara Cobb, the Reid Park Zoological Society's marketing director.

For $25 the day-of or $15 in advance, you can dance, dodge and downward dog to your heartbeat's content. Kids ages 5-13 get in for $5, and zoo members get $3 off adult admission. The admission goes toward a zoological society fund dedicated to zoo improvements.

Kids activities near Expedition Tanzania (that'd be the elephants), include Zumba for kids, instruction from the Circus Academy of Tucson and an obstacle course. Say 'hi' to 2-year-old Nandi while you're there. 👋🐘

This was Nandi when she was about 6 months old.

Cobb says the lions and rhino are some of the most likely animals to be out and about during the evening, though others will have exhibit access.

The zoo's cafe will be open for food and drink options — including drinks of the alcoholic variety.

Pima Community College will also be on site testing heart rates and blood pressure, hand-grip strength and waist-to-hip ratio. Get a massage from Tucson Family Wellness and acupressure by the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

Advance tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for adult members and $5 for children.

Reid Park Zoo, 3400 E. Zoo Court, will host Fit Fest 2017 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4.
