If you ever have to sum up what it's like to live in Tucson, look no further than Emily Orzel's Instagram page.
Orzel, an illustrator, graphic designer and Tucson native, has been posting some of her artwork to the platform as a way to share her creativity with others.
With an eye to find the unique and beauty in everything (like this La Croix can), Orzel has a style that's all her own. She's basically the arty BFF you wish you'd had.
And it's all pretty fantastic if you ask us.
This year, Orzel is also heading back to Cultivate Tucson, a local pop-up market taking place Dec. 3 at 901 S. 6th Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., where she will be selling prints, pennant flags and buttons of her illustrations.

Here's what Emily had to say about her art, life in Tucson and advice for other creatives:
How long have you lived in Tucson?
I was born and raised in Tucson! I have meet a lot of people who are surprised when they find out that I am from Tucson. When I was younger I always thought I that I would leave, but as I grew and changed so did Tucson and now I'm in love with this place—especially its incredibly supportive creative community!
What made you start an Instagram account?
I started Instagram back in 2012 for same reason most people started Instagram—as a outlet for over-filtered images of lattes. I think it wasn't until a year or so later that I realized what a great tool Instagram could be for sharing art.
What do you like to post?
Right now, I primarily post my own illustrations. It's fun, easy and quick way to share what I'm are working on.
What inspires you to create and share your art with others?
I'm inspired by a lot of different things! T.V., music, books, the desert and the people in my life. I share my work because I love those moments when my illustrations connect/ resonate with other people.
What are some of your favorite pieces?
There is this piece that I made right out of college that is one of my favorites. It has these little drawings of "light" objects — a lamp, a match, a flashlight, a phone, a Bic lighter — and lettering that reads "It won't be dark forever". It's one of my favorite because it was when my illustration style started becoming clearer. The piece itself is also a comforting reminder for me to look at when I'm feeling down.
What advice do you have for the aspiring artist?
Just keep creating. Actively practice your art no matter what. Even if you don't know your direction or your style just keep creating and the rest will start to come together. Oh, and NEVER compare yourself or your art to anyone. Comparison is the quickest way to kill your own creativity.
What do you hope people take away from your images?
A laugh, a reminder or the feeling that aren't alone in something.
Who do you like to follow on Instagram?
I love to follow other local creatives. There is so many talented creatives in Tucson that I could never name them all. Seeing them work their buns off inspires me so much. One of my absolute favorites to follow on Instagram is one of my best friends who is also a Tucson-based illustrator. Her name is Danielle DeLorenzo (@danielledelorenzo on Instragram). We met in art school and since day one she has supported and inspired me like no other!
