Brian Peabodyβs Pima College menβs basketball team staged a compelling comeback Friday night against the defending NJCAA champions Salt Lake CC. The Aztecs lost 102-95 but mightβve identified two key (local) players that will help them contend for the ACCAC title and the 2017 playoffs: Salpointe gradΒ Emilio AcedoΒ made seven 3-pointers for a career-high 22 points, and former Cienega standoutΒ Isaiah Murphy, a freshman, scored a team-high 28. The Aztecs are entertaining; theyβve averaged 122 points through six games.Β
