USC might be the best unheard-of team in the nation, staying below the Top 25 radar and in UCLA's considerable shadow. The Trojans went undefeated in nonconference play and have only lost to teams ahead of them in the Pac-12, except for an 18-point loss at Utah. USC has been a mediocre shooting team in conference play, hitting 42.1 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from 3-point range but has a balanced offense that features aggressive point guard Jordan McLaughlin, standout freshman guard De'Anthony Melton and veteran scorer Elijah Stewart on the perimeter. Stretch-four Bennie Boatwright missed 15 games with a knee sprain, including UA’s Jan. 19 win over USC but returned on Feb. 1, pushing Chimezie Metu from power forward to center. All five starters are averaging at least nine points in conference play. Β
