The analysts on ESPN spent a good chunk of the latest College Football Playoff rankings reveal debating the merits of three-loss USC.

But it’s another Pac-12 school that’s in prime position to make the CFP.

The path is clear for No. 5 Washington. Basically, if the Huskies win out, they’re in.

First comes the Apple Cup against Washington State. The winner faces USC or Colorado in the Pac-12 Championship Game. With Michigan and Ohio State playing what amounts to an elimination game Saturday, UW essentially controls its fate. There’s no way the committee will keep out a one-loss Pac-12 champion.
