2017 induction class announced

The Pima County Sports Hall of Fame's 2017 comes with some brotherly — and sisterly — love.  

The class includes three sets of siblings, a first in the 28-year history of the Hall of Fame.

Canyon del Oro High School’s Chris Duncan and Shelley Duncan — who played a combined 12 seasons in the MLB — will join Salpointe Catholic graduates Sybil Dosty (basketball) and Whitney Dosty (volleyball), and former Santa Rita High School basketball stars Jim Pyers and Paula Pyers in the Class of 2017.

The class was featured at a Wednesday press conference at the DoubleTree Reid Park Hotel. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Sunday, Oct. 29, with registration starting at 11:45 a.m., and the banquet starting at 12:30, also held at the DoubleTree Reid Park Hotel.
