Free Third Thursdays at MOCA

Third Thursday at Tucson’s Museum of Contemporary Art is a party. The art museum is open late with free admission — and free beer from Barrio Brewing Co. KXCI will be DJing and there will be talks and activities surrounding the publication of the 2023 Sonoran Desert School Gardener's Almanac.

All Souls Memorial Lantern Workshop

Taiko drummers Odaiko Sonora are hosting a workshop at Takamatsu that will teach you to make a memorial lantern to bring to the upcoming All Souls Procession. Materials will be provided, but you can bring special paints, paper, images or quotes to decorate your lantern. All the items must be able to be safely placed in an urn for burning at the end of the procession.

Fall Ikebana Festival

Yume Japanese Gardens of Tucson describes Ikebana as a "meditative art of Japanese floral arranging." At this festival, you'll find colorful floral arrangements showcased throughout the grounds of the gardens.

Tohono Chul is hosting two days of food vendors, artisans and entertainers this weekend, along with ofrendas and Día de los Muertos face painting for kids. Vendors will be selling handmade chocolate, salsas and salts.

Walk with Amal

Little Amal is a 12-foot puppet of a Syrian refugee girl, who has traveled to 15 countries with a "message of hope and solidarity." She’s now made her way to the United States, stopping in Tucson with several events at locations including Tumamoc Hill, Galeria Mitotera, Children’s Museum Tucson and the University of Arizona Mall.

Fall events at Life Under The Oaks Lavender Farm

Lavender is no longer in bloom at the Life Under The Oaks Lavender Farm in Oracle, but the farm is still celebrating the fall season. A fall celebration will take place on Saturday. Explore the farm, paint a pumpkin, make a witch's broom and enjoy treats. The following morning, the farm will host a lavender pumpkin pancake brunch.

Musical Murals
