Editor's note: The UA football team finally touched down in Salt Lake City in the middle of the night (early Saturday morning)

The Arizona football team was scheduled to fly to Salt Lake City on Friday afternoon for the Wildcats' game against No. 10 Utah on Saturday night.

However, that flight was delayed because of a mechanical issue, forcing the team to wait and change its plans, a UA spokesman said.

As of 9:15 p.m. Friday, the team was expected to fly to Salt Lake City on a later flight Friday night. FlightAware showed two SkyWest charter flights from Tucson to Salt Lake with departure times of 9:55 p.m. and 10:05 p.m.

Kickoff at Rice-Eccles Stadium is slated for 7:15 p.m. Arizona time, 8:15 Mountain Daylight Time. So even with the later-than-planned arrival, the Wildcats should have plenty of time to rest and prepare for the game.
