With the climate ripe for commerce, local organizers think they can make a strong case to bring the 2024 Olympics to the San Francisco Bay Area. Existing facilities for the Bay Area’s seven professional teams and two major colleges would host most of the events, including Levi's Stadium, the 49ers’ new $1.3 billion stadium in Santa Clara. The Pac-12 this year debuts the football championship game at a neutral site, Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Capacity of the 49ers stadium is about 71,000. It will be a good night if 35,000 people actually occupy seats at Friday’s Arizona-Oregon game. Tickets are from $129 to $244 and parking at the stadium is $49. A year ago, when ASU played host to Stanford at Sun Devil Stadium, about 11,000 ASU students attended and the game was sold out. Again, the TV money will flow, but it’s not a game for the average Joe.
