Tucson police officers are investigating a life threatening pedestrian collision on 1st Avenue, Public Information Officer Sgt. Pete Dugan said.
At 9 p.m., officers blocked travel on 1st Avenue from Prince Road to Yavapai Road due to the incident. Drivers should use alternate routes.
A woman was transported to a hospital with the injuries. It doesn't appear that she was in a crosswalk, Dugan said.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene of the incident. Officers do not know when travel will resume on 1st Avenue.
