Greek heartthrob
A former UA commit who was tried out unsuccessfully for the USA’s U18 team in 2014, Dorsey was able to switch allegiances to Greece for the U19 Championships last summer because his mother is Greek.
But he’s still SoCal to the core, telling Sports Illustrated last summer that he didn’t know the Greek language except when he picked up the word for yes and a “bad word.”
Greece, which hosted the tournament, loved him anyway. Dorsey led Greece to the semifinals while averaging 15.9 points and 6.0 rebounds.
SI wrote that local children begged him for autographs each time he came off the court, and an older girl wanted much more.
"I'm not totally sure,” Dorsey told SI, “but I think a girl in our hotel lobby said to me, 'I want to marry you.’”
