Former Cal swimmer and four-time Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin stopped by courtside before Saturday’s game. There, she greeted Oakland A’s manager Bob Melvin, who was a catcher for the Bears.
During the game, Melvin, who was also the Diamondbacks’ manager from 2005-09, sat next to former Cal quarterback and coach Joe Kapp.
At halftime, Franklin was honored for winning the 2015 Honda Cup as the top female competitor in college sports last year.
