Safford 26, Desert View 15
At Safford, the Bulldogs beat the Jaguars at their homecoming on Friday.
Neither team scored in the first quarter. Desert View was able to score its first touchdown in the second quarter, but wasn't able to score again until the fourth.
Safford was able to score two touchdowns in the second quarter, including an 80-yard punt return by Robert Lopez. In the last minutes of the second quarter Safford scored again on a 1-yard run.
In the third quarter the Bulldogs scored on a 32-yard run and once again scored in the fourth quarter on a 18-yard run.
Desert View (3-2) visits undefeated Sabino next Friday.
Highlight reel
Desert View blocked Safford's punt in the fourth quarter and Desert View's Chris Aros was able to recover the ball at the 1-yard line. This then allowed Desert View's Alex Courtemanche to score on a 1-yard touchdown.
Player of the game
Courtemanche rushed for 37 yards with a touchdown. He also scored the 2-point conversion after his touchdown run.

"We had a few good throws by our quarterbacks, a few good tackles and a few good runs. We did a lot of things right we just didn't do enough. The other teams just made more plays than we did," said Desert View coach Robert Bonillas.
