ASU has mostly stumbled and bumbled as an athletic administration for the last 25 years, so it’s refreshing to see new Sun Devil AD Ray Anderson be such a key part of the successful bid for Glendale’s University of Phoenix Stadium to play host to the 2017 Final Four. It might be more impressive if he had not re-upped ASU basketball coach Herb Sendek through 2019; the Sun Devils listed attendance at Friday’s opener against Chicago State at 5,295. However, watching the game on the Pac-12 Networks, it looked more like 3,295.
