Unique art and decorations add a modern feel to Charro Steak on the corner of East Broadway Boulevard and South 5th Avenue. The bar offers over 12 beers on tap and a wide variety of mixed drinks.

The following restaurants are expected to provide samples during "The Tucson 23":

• Charro Steak, 188 E. Broadway, 485-1922. The menu: Summer steak salad with chicharron.

​• Churros el Rey, 4940 S. Park Ave., 302-1966. The menu: Various flavors of churro bites with cinnamon and sugar, caramel, chocolate, strawberry, cream cheese, lemon pie or condensed milk or churro bites with any two flavors and vanilla ice cream.

• Crossroads Restaurant, 2602 S. Fourth Ave., South Tucson, 624-0395. The menu: Traditional Sonoran Red Chile Beef served with refried beans, rice and tortillas.

• El Charro, 311 N. Court Ave. downtown, 622-1922, and two other locations. The menu: Shrimp tinga. 

​• ​El Cisne Cocina da Mexico, 4717 E. Sunrise Drive, 638-6160. The menu: Tacos del salmon. 

• El Coronado Family Restaurant, 7385 S. Houghton Road, 574-7776. The menu: Salsa and rolled tacos.

• El Merendero, 5443 S. 12th Ave., 294-1522. The menu: Chicharrones de camarón with a tangy soy lime mayo.

• Elvira's, 256 E. Congress St., 499-2302.The menu: Duck confit tacos with pineapple salsa fresca, pickled red onion and duck cracklins on a corn tortilla.

• Fermented Tea Company, 3820 S. Palo Verde Road, 286-6889. The menu: Various flavors of kombucha including prickly pear, tropical mango, ginger zest and mochabucha.

• Gringo Grill + Cantina, 5900 N. Oracle Road at the at the La Posada Lodge & Casitas, 887-3777. The menu: Carnitas "egg roll" with pepita-peanut sauce.

• La Estrella Bakery, 120 S. Avenida Del Convento, 393-3320. The menu: Mini empanada and deserts including Mexican Flag cookies and Mexican wedding cookies.

• La Botana Fresco Taco Grill, 3200 N. First Ave., 777-8801. The menu: Fresh chips and salsa.

• Omni Tucson National, 2727 W Club Drive, 297-2271. The menu: Seafood tamale with tomatillo crema and sweet corn coulis paired with chile oil and pork rind cracklings and a seafood mousseline with bay scallops, shrimp and salmon.

• Popped Artisan Popcorn, with production facilities in northwest Tucson, 940-0115. The menu: Various flavors of artisan popcorn highlighting flavors of the Southwest.

• Perfecto's Restaurant, 5404 S. 12th Ave., 889-5651. The menu: Birria tamales and mini chimis.

• Pima Community College Culinary Arts, pima.edu The menu: "Abuelitas Dulce Arroz" or "Granny's Sweet Rice" with Abuelita chocolate ganache with creme brulee rice. topped with milk, caramelized almonds with brown sugar and galletitas.

• Queen Ceviche, various farmers markets around Tucson, 904-4715. Organic hibiscus margarita.

• Red’s Smokehouse & Taproom, 943 E. University Blvd., 500-9009. The menu: House-made tostadas topped with spicy mayo, six-hour smoked pork or beef and pico de gallo; fresh shrimp ceviche in a jalapeño tomato sangrita.

• Reforma Modern Mexican Mezcal + Tequila, 4310 N. Campbell Ave. at East River Road, 867-4134. The menu: Carnitas tacos with habanero salsa, pickled onion served on a corn tortilla.

• Restaurant Sinaloa, 1020 W. Prince Road, 887-1161. The menu: Ceviche and micheladas.

• Rigo's Restaurant, 2527 S Fourth Ave. in South Tucson, 882-9323. (Also at 5851 N. Oracle Road, 887-2132.) The menu: Birria, rice , beans paired with a Paloma margarita.

• Seis Kitchen, 130 S. Avenida del Convento in Mercado San Agustin, 622-2002. The menu: Cochinita Pibil street taco with achiote-roasted pork and the house chipotle crema.

• Sir Veza's Taco Garage, 220 W. Wetmore Road in the Tucson Mall, 888-8226. The menu: Chips, salsa and guacamole.  

• The Heartmade Company, 1-619-721-4442. The menu: Sonoran artisan flour tortillas.
