Arizona doesn't appear to be slowing down with its 2017 recruiting class.

On May 7, the Wildcats added a verbal commitment from linebacker Tony Fields, from Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas.

Fields is already the eighth commitment of Arizona's 2017 class, and the fifth on defense. Fields tweeted out the announcement on May 7.

Fields is rated a three-star recruit by Scout.com, the No. 13 linebacker in the West and the No. 1 linebacker in Nevada. He picked the Wildcats over offers from 15 schools, including Boise State, BYU, Missouri, Oregon State and Washington State.

Safeties coach Jahmile Addae was the lead recruiter on Fields, who is listed at 6 foot 2 and 200 pounds.
