County Attorney's Office promotes lawman St. John
Keith St. John was named chief of detectives in the Pima County Attorney’s Office.
He has 38 years of law enforcement experience, beginning in 1977 with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, where he became a homicide detective.
St. John joined the Pima County Attorney’s Office in 2001. One of the cases he handled for many years, at both offices, was the cold-case investigation into the 1996 car-bombing death of businessman Gary Triano. In a news release last week announcing St. John’s promotion, the County Attorney’s Office said he was integral to developing evidence that ultimately led to Pamela Phillips being convicted in 2014 of hiring a hit man to kill her ex-husband.
Over the past 14 years, St. John has served as detective, lead detective and acting chief of detectives for the County Attorney’s Office.
