Providence overview
The Friars have returned to the national conversation under fifth-year coach Ed Cooley, going to the NCAA tournament each of the last two seasons. While they have a lot of inexperience surrounding star guard Kris Dunn, with nine of their 11 players having two or fewer years of college experience, the Friars have big size on the wing, strength inside and the all-around ability of Dunn. As a result, they have bolted to a 5-0 start so far. Providence beat Evansville 74-64 in the first round of the Wooden Legacy on Thursday, with big man Ben Lentil leading the Friars in scoring with 24 points while Dunn had 18 points, five assists and six rebounds.
