A Western diamondback rattlesnake lives at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.
A 13-year-old girl was transported to a local hospital after she was bitten on the ankle by a snake at Christopher Columbus Park, officials said.
Tucson Fire Department responded to the park, in the area of West Grant Road and North Silverbell Road, at about 10:30 a.m., according to a post on the department's Twitter feed.
The post said that the girl stepped on the snake, at which point it bit her.
No additional details are available at this time.
Man was repairing an amateur radio tower.
The incident marks the fourth snake-bite call handled by Northwest Fire District this season.
