Well it's been more than a week since Arizona received its last verbal commitment for the 2017 recruiting class.
Time for another.
On July 11, three-star wide receiver Darrian McNeal announced his commitment to the Wildcats while on a visit to Arizona's campus. He made the announcement on Twitter.
McNeal becomes the 22nd player to commit to Arizona's 2017 class. The Wildcats seem to be loading up on receiving options in this recruiting cycle, as McNeal becomes the sixth receiver or tight end to commit to Arizona for next year, counting Sabino athlete Drew Dixon.
With the promotion of Jahmile Addae from staff analyst to assistant coach — he's specifically coaching safeties — the Wildcats have made an increased effort to bring in talent from Florida, one of Addae's main regions. This is where McNeal, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound receiver, is from. He plays for Armwood High School in Seffner, Florida.
Based on his other offers, McNeal would seem to be on the higher end of the three-star spectrum — he holds offers from Louisville, Georgia Tech, Oregon State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and Rutgers, amongst others.
