- Trico Electric Cooperative and CoBank: The two companies awarded the Marana Unified School District a total of $10,000 to support the Power Pack program. Trico gave MUSD $5,000 in grant funds earlier in the year and CoBank recently matched that amount. The Power Pack program provides backpacks of food for the weekend for children in need.
- TCC-Verizon: From Oct. 16 through Oct. 27, Tucson residents are invited to visit select TCC wireless retail locations to nominate veterans to receive care packages filled with books, puzzles, hygiene items and other items. Participating TCC stores are at 6501 E. Grant Road, 4758 E. Sunrise Drive, 1580 E. Tucson Marketplace Blvd., 7401 N. La Cholla Blvd., 5870 E. Broadway, 7056 E. Golf Links Road, 7245 E. Tanque Verde Road and 4500 N. Oracle Road. Each participating store is donating five care packages.
- Mesch Clark Rothschild: The Tucson law firm, is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a community project to enhance one of the city’s historic parks. On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the first of 60 trees, recognizing Mesch Clark’s 60th anniversary, will be planted at Himmel Park. The project is in conjunction with Tucson Clean & Beautiful/Trees for Tucson to help restore the shade canopy at the park which has been in decline for several years.
