- Walmart Foundation: The foundation announced $446,000 in hunger-related grants to Arizona nonprofits statewide, coinciding with Septemberβs Hunger Action Month and distributed as part of an Arizona Day of Giving. The Tucson recipient was Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, $50,000.
- Tucson Speedway: The track held a fundraiser Oct. 1 for the American Cancer Society, with drivers at the Speedway Sampler Presented by Precision Toyota racing βfor all of the fans in the stands that have been touched by cancer,β said John Lashley, president of Tucson Speedway, in a news release. A portion of all ticket sales and vendorsβ food revenue from that day will be donated.

- he company donates a percentage of revenue from July and August each year; ballots are sent to its customers to help decide recipients, said general manager Teresa Loy in a news release. This year, The Maids donated $2,855 to five local nonprofits: Community Food Bank, The Hermitage Cat Shelter, Youth on Their Own, Casas de los NiΓ±os and Southern Arizona Humane Society

- Bank of America: Employee volunteers from the bank teamed up with Habitat for Humanity on Sept. 24 to install insulation and help paint a new home for a local family.
- Looking to give back? The deadline for volunteers to sign up to participate in Southern Arizonaβs single largest volunteer event, United Wayβs Days of Caring 2016, is Oct. 12, at www.unitedwaytucson.org/daysofcaring
- This yearβs events will be held Oct. 19 and Oct. 22.
