  • Technicians For Sustainability: The Tucson solar company was recognized by the nonprofit B Lab for creating a positive environmental impact. Technicians for Sustainability is honored in the Best For Environment list, which includes businesses that earned an environment score in the top 10 percent of more than 2,400 Certified B Corporations on the B Impact Assessment. The environment portion of the B Impact Assessment evaluates a company’s environmental performance through its facilities, materials, emissions and resource and energy use. The assessment also measures whether a company’s products or services are designed to solve an environmental issue. Technicians For Sustainability made the list for exceptional practices in its implementation of solar energy including its sustainable-sourcing practices, reduction of transportation impact and commitment to reducing industry waste and recycling.
  • Tucson International Airport: TIA won second place for the Best Food and Beverage Program in the small airport category at the Airports Council International-North America Airport Concessions Awards. Since September 2017, the Tucson Airport Authority, along with its food and beverage concessionaire, Creative Food Group, have opened nine new restaurants, which include Noble Hops, Sir Veza’s, Beyond Bread, Empire Pizza, Bruegger’s Bagels, Built Custom Burgers, El Charro Cafe and Arbuckles’ Coffee. Dunkin’ Donuts, The Maverick and Thunder Canyon Brewstillery will open this year in gate areas.
