This week, Habitat for Humanity Tucson will launch Blitz Build β βan eight-day, high energy buildβ of four new homes in partnership with local home builders and industry professionals.
βWe are aggressively taking action against substandard housing in our community,β T. VanHook, Habitat Tucson CEO, said in a news release. βBlitz Build offers us a unique opportunity to engage our local home builders and surrounding community to take a stand together and build strength for our neighbors. Strong and stable homes build strong and stable communities.β
Blitz Build will take place from Thursday, Oct. 20 through Oct. 28 in a neighborhood near South Park Avenue and Drexel Road.
The agency is seeking in-kind donations, contractors’ services, volunteers and support for what it calls a record-breaking undertaking. Those interested in providing food and water for the builders, or supplying materials and professional services, are asked to call 373-7780 or email buildersblitz@habitattucson.org .
