•  Arby’s: Arby’s restaurants of Tucson raised more than $15,000 for United Cerebral Palsy. UCP provides services to children and adults with all types of disabilities by providing home-based support services. Tucson-area Arby’s restaurants held their annual fundraiser for UCP from the end of July through Aug. 13. Restaurant guests were invited to donate any amount to UCP and in return received a coupon for a free slider on their next visit. The fundraiser was available at all eight Tucson/Sierra Vista Arby’s, which are owned by restaurant management company Irish Beef.
  •  South Tucson Lions Club: The organization purchased equipment to conduct vision screenings on more than 30,000 Tucson children with the help of donations from Jim Click, Long Realty Foundation, Desert Diamond Casino and the Sundt Foundation.
  • Tucson REALTORS Charitable Foundation: The foundation awarded $4,000 in grants to area nonprofits. The funds were raised through donations from Tucson Association of Realtors and affiliate members. The Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona received $2,500 to help defray the costs of purchasing diapers in sizes that are not typically donated. The Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona provides diapers and incontinence supplies to low-income families and adults in Southern Arizona. Chicanos Por La Causa was awarded $1,500 to support its financial education classes throughout Pima County in its Housing Counseling Program. CPLC is a Housing and Urban Development-approved counseling agency with more than 30 years of experience in the development of affordable housing.
