PHOENIX β€” American Airlines is adding non-stop service to three new cities from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in March.

The airline, the busiest carrier at Sky Harbor with about 300 daily flights after its merger with US Airways, plans to add daily service March 3 to Roswell, N.M.; Lubbock, Texas; and Midland/Odessa, Texas.

American will be the only carrier offering non-stop service on the route from Sky Harbor. US Airways predecessor America West flew between Phoenix and the Texas cities until 1991 but hasn’t offered the service since.

The flights will be American Eagle flights operated by American partners Mesa Airlines and SkyWest, using regional jets.

Tickets went on sale Saturday.

The new service is in addition to previously announced new non-stop service to Memphis, which also begins March 3.
