Today the Star launches a new monthly feature, a roundup and analysis of local economic data from the MAP (Making Action Possible) Dashboard.
The MAP Dashboard is a project of the Economic and Business Research Center at the University of Arizona Eller College of Management, in partnership with the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona and the Southern Arizona Leadership Council.
The Dashboard was created not only to inform, but to inspire action to improve the regionβs economy, said George Hammond, an economist and director of the UA Economic and Business Research Center.
βThe purpose of the dashboard is to provide the community with a trusted source of information that we can use to identify emerging trends, benchmark progress, and improve decision making,β he said.
The Starβs monthly MAP Dashboard presentation will include some of the latest key economic stats, short articles about timely economic trends, and a βfuel- gaugeβ using economic data to compare Tucson to other areas.
