  • : Five local charities will share in more than $131,000 raised by the Rotary Club’s Ninth Annual Tucson Classics Car Show, held Oct. 17, 2015, at The Gregory School. The recipients and amounts are: Reading Seed, $56,177; Youth On Their Own, $25,038; YWCA of Southern Arizona’s Women’s Center for Economic Opportunity, $25,038; El Rio Foundation’s Dental Partnership Program, $6,259; and Imago Dei Middle School, $6,259. The Rotary Club of Tucson has given more than $876,000 to local charities as a result of its nine Classics Car Shows.
  • Southern Arizona Home Builders Association and Quebedeaux Buick GMC:
  • They joined forces to donate a 15-passenger van on Friday, Feb. 19 to Esperanza En Escalante, to be used by the nonprofit organization to transport and assist veterans. SAHBA donated $10,000 toward purchase of the van, using funds raised at its recent Charity Golf Classic.
  • Cinderella’s Closet, JTED and Goodwill of Southern Arizona:
  • They have partnered to give away hundreds of prom dresses to high school students at the fourth annual “Prom-O-Rama” on Saturday, March 5 at JTED, 8787 E. 22nd Street, Building No. 3 (at Camino Seco), from 9 a.m. — 3 p.m. For more information, see cinderellasclosettucson.com.
