The designer’s clothing and accessories are expected to be available on La Encantada’s upper level sometime in August.

Kate Spade New York, which is known for brightly colored designer clothing and accessories for women, will open its first Tucson store, at La Encantada, 2905 E. Skyline Drive.

The 1,600-square-foot store, in the former Ilori Eyeware space on the mall’s upper level, is projected to open in August.

Kate Spade New York has more than 80 retail shops and outlet stores across the U.S. Two of those locations are in Arizona, in Chandler and Scottsdale.

Other new tenants at La Encantada include Loft, Barre3 and Gigi’s Bridal.

Michael Kors will open during the first quarter of 2015 and a temporary tenant, Base Concept Apparel, will open at the end of June, said Melanie Sutton, spokeswoman for La Encantada.
