- Tucson Firefighters Association:
- Made a special delivery to Tucson Medical Center on Dec. 17 of a little fire truck stocked with toys for TMC for Children, made possible by donations from the firefighters and local businesses.
- Twelve Tribes Reggae Shop and DJ Jahmar International:
- Will present the Second annual DJs against Hunger event at Armory Park, 221 S. Sixth Ave., from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 23. They will feed homeless people, and provide hygiene supplies and blankets, with the support of businesses including Brooklyn Pizza, Chicago Bar, Club Life Apparel, Blue Moon Smoke Shop, Twelve Tribes Sound, Sugared N Iced, Hair 21 Studio, Cee Deeโs Jamaican Kitchen, and Arc Printing.
- Tohono Oโodham Gaming Enterprise:
- Presented a check for $40,000 to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona on Dec. 16.
- Cox Communications:
- Its employees and customers donated non-perishable food items for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona which will be delivered Monday, Dec. 21. In addition, Cox Communications will present a $7,500 cash donation.
- Vantage West Credit Union:
- Awarded $20,000 in charitable holiday grants to 10 local organizations (each received $2,000): Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson; Bridge Rescue for Dogs, Inc.; Integrative Touch for Kids; Kairos Prison Ministry International; Salvation Army; Steele Childrenโs Research Center; Tucson Youth Football and Spirit Federation; Tucsonโs Cause for Canines; Tu Nidito Children and Family Services and Vail Education Foundation.
- The Gardeners of Tucson:
- Recently awarded $1,000 grants to seven youth- related gardening projects involving science education, nutrition awareness, resource conservation and heritage preservation at Craycroft, Davis Bilingual and Fruchthendler elementary schools; Mary Meredith K-12 and Esmond Station K-8; and Santa Rita and Tucson high schools.
- Cochise County Sheriffโs Office:
- Raised $7,000 for Shop with a Cop and $7,000 for Toys for Tots through its annual motorcycle charity ride in November. The donations were presented Dec. 17 in Bisbee.
