Pizzeria Bianco

The handcrafted Neapolitan-style pies at Pizzeria Bianco are all about balance and forging a harmonious blend of ingredients. β€œI feel pressure every day not to let people down ... We want to do something special,” owner Chris Bianco says.

Fall finds Acacia

You won't see any golden and red leaves falling outside, but the season is in full swing at Acacia Real Food and Cocktails in the foothills.

New to the fall menu at Acacia, 3001 E. Skyline Drive, is the Mediterranean fritter with roasted eggplant, leek, artichoke, madras curry aioli, lemon yogurt and chili oil ($11); pork schnitzel, with garlic buttered noodles, and seasonal vegetables ($24), and rack of lamb, Dijon, with roasted peanuts, madras curry crumble, mashed Yukon gold potatoes and chef’s seasonal vegetable selection ($36).

There's also the farm-fresh faves with fall leanings: Acacia's classic roasted Willcox tomato, basil soup ($8); garlic grilled Guaymas prawns with linguini and Campari tomatoes ($26); Cioppino ($30); and maplewood smoked breast of duckling ($30).

Hours:Β 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Lunch at Bianco's

Pizzeria Bianco serves up a rotating market sandwich that changes every couple of days.

On Monday, it was Italian meatloaf with a sweet and spicy tomato sauce and Β rich fontina cheese.

It's one of three sandwiches on the downtown pizzeria's lunch menu. You also can get namesake chef-owner Chris Bianco's internationally acclaimed pies and salads at lunchtime. The restaurant at 272 E. Congress St. has been serving lunch since early fall.

Hours:Β 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, until 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and from noon to 7 p.m. Sundays.
