How do you survive summers in Tucson:

“I think it’s all part of having a plan. The more you’re prepared for it the less surprised you are. … I’m always the X factor in every situation. If I stand out at noon in no shirt and no hat and curse the sun, then shame on me. But when I can do my transactions in the cool of the early morning, then it’s not so bad. I think there’s always an opportunity in deprivation (of summer’s business slowdown). That’s my enjoyment of summer. I look forward to the opportunity to make something special happen.”

Summer tip:

If you’re in a business that traditionally slows down in the summer months, turn the slowdown into opportunity, whether it’s improving your physical space or nurturing relationships with your customers and employees.
